Do Your Research
You need to first do your research to learn about the experience of the business that you’re considering working with and how they operate. There are a lot of agencies out there and the way they target and shortlist candidates is very different, so it’s certainly worth understanding that before you make a decision. It can be tempting to go with the big household names, however smaller agencies access the same talent pool and can deliver you more of a tailored service.

When you’re looking for a role in a specialist area then opting for a specialist agency might be the right move for you. Also make use of their knowledge and experience by asking their opinion on the candidates, especially if you’re struggling to decide between two different people as they may be able to give you a fresh and unbiased view.

If you work with just one recruitment partner then you’re only having to deal with one person throughout the process, and so are the applicants! Using more than one agency can mean you’ll end up with duplicate applicants and perhaps end up making the process take longer than it needs to.
